| "I
feel that the composition of tonal music is a reflection of one's soul. Once there
is inspiration, I must get the composition out, whether there is a commission
for it. | |
|
| Sometimes
the inspiration for a piece has been kept for years in the heart. After experiencing
much pain and new environments, I revise the music and finally arrive at the
destination."

| | "The
process of composition is filled with joy and sorrow. It all depends on whether
the influence from the environment at that time was peaceful or tragic. Furthermore,
during composition, the composer's feelings are affected by the nature of the
piece. On top of these, the surrounding also affects the composer for better or
for worse.
| |
| | Honestly,
there is more sorrow than joy. However, one must remember that composition is
writing about one's life. All the events are recorded in the piece. The painful
process continues right till the end of the act of composition, during which time,
one heaves a sigh of relief and enjoys the pleasure of a burden lifted away. The
pleasure of the first performance is simply indescribable."

"I
think it is a great enjoyment to compose music. Writing music regularly is like
keeping a diary, keeping a record of feelings and experiences. A composer's feelings
are reflected in his compositions. It becomes a record of his life, events and
memories."
