"My longing for quiet shows in all my series. Blue is a quiet colour. I paint the galaxies in the quiet of the night. I saw the flowers in the mist at midnight. My life as a businessman and community leader took up almost all my time once. I wanted peace to concentrate on my art so much that in 1987, when my business became stable, I became a full-time artist."


  "I love painting nature, particularly mountains. Mountains `live', changing from hour to hour. Living in Singapore is a drawback for me as an artist since it has no mountains and is so urbanized with little natural scenery'.
