| Tan Kian Por was
born in China in the year 1949. In 1970, he graduated from the Nanyang Academy
of Fine Arts in Singapore.
In 1978, he was awarded the National Day Special Art Award. In 1988, the book
"The Art of Tan Kian Por" was published and in 1998, his works were selected in
the Calligraphy and Painting collection of Eminent Chinese all over the world.
He received the prestigious Cultural Medallion Award in 2001. Tan
Kian Por specializes in Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal-carving. He has
held eight Solo Art Exhibitions in Singapore and abroad. Presently a Vice-president
of Federation of Art Societies, he is also the president of Siaw-Tao Art Society,
a Singapore Eastern Painting Selection committee member, lecturer of Chinese Brush
Painting in NAFA and a permanent committee member of the Xiling Art Society (China)
and Korea Chinese Seal-carving Society. View
